You are not in VP’s good books and he believes that you have done this intentionally to harm the company and has even complained to the CEO about your actions. How would you handle the situation?

Personal Interview (8-10 minutes)
Pre- PI Description: Reached at 7.45 am to IMT campus. After that case study & certificates were checked till 10am. I sat in a room from 10.15 till around 12 waiting for my interview .Finally got it rescheduled to a little earlier time as I had to board a train to Chandigarh. I slept for less than 3 hours the previous night courtesy the mosquitoes of Indirapuram,Ghaziabad which made merry on my blood (since there was a power cut, which I have heard is a regular feature there).

Panel Members Intro:  3 panelists.  For the sake of convenience I shall call them by :
FP  ( Female Prof     35+,  Left side)
OP  (Old Prof           45+,  Middle)
SP  ( Stern Prof         45+, Right Side)

Me (Yours Truly…)

Personal Interview
Me :  May I come in ?
SP  :  Yes you may. So you are Ankit Aggarwal?
(And now the part where Yours Truly was Royally  F*^*^#)

Me:  No Sir,my name is Sahil Khanna
(I was at a distance & had not seated during this dialogue)
SP :  (Irritated voice) So you got your interview rescheduled ? Why so..

ME:  Sir,I had to board a train,hence…
SP :   But you knew you had your interview scheduled, still you booked your tickets…

ME: Sir,the procedure was to start at 8.30,so I thought it would be over by…
SP:   But you still booked your tickets….

OP(Interrupted  by OP ) Not a problem Sahil, have a seat.
ME:  Wished the panel & took the seat.

OP:  So, Sahil you are not working currently.
ME:  No Sir…(Forgot to tell that I was working as a free- lancer)

OP:  (Seeing the profile form) So,Sahil seems like you have been a Job-Hopper…
ME: Sir, I will explain. After our AIEEE result came out, there was a quota issue due to which the    session started late. Without a graduation degree, one sector which could have employed me was BPO. Hence I worked with them for 6 months, had to leave since engineering classes were going on & it was not possible to manage both because my shift was from 11.30pm to 9.30am & then college till 5pm .Post-engineering, my joining for Infosys was in October & hence worked for 6 months with TCY .

SP :  What was the quota issue ?
ME: Told (was convinced)

FP :  So, what was your role with TCY ?
ME:  Ma’am,I was working as a Verbal Faculty for IELTS & TOEFL.My role was to prepare them for all 4 sections which included Reading,Listening,Writing & Speaking. For the TOEFL batch I was asked to teach students who were 1400 + on their GRE.The main task was to score 110+ on 120 in TOEFL so that they could make it to their dream universities abroad. I was very happy to see that out of 11,8 crossed the 110 mark. They usually had some problem with the speaking part as in TOEFL, any random topic is played for a minute or so & then one has to speak for 2 minutes at length on the question that follows.

FP : (nodding) So, how did you help them improve ?
ME: Ma’am,(looked towards other 2 profs & involved them as well) I told them the basics of speaking & the concept of INTRO,BODY & CONCLUSION. Plus how to articulate themselves & where & how to modulate the voice so that the recorded speech is not in a FLAT tone.

SP :  What is this TCY ?
ME: Sir,TCY is Top Careeers & You.It is a premier institute which trains people for different courses.
(Aur ab SIXER,ball stadium ke bahar).
Sir,TCY also happens to be on the Summer-Internship list of IMT-Ghaziabad.

SP :  (Chup… lambiiii Khamoshi)

FP:  So, Sahil if you are selected in IMT-Ghaziabad, & say you are attending the class for Business Communications, how will you perceive that class: as a Student, a Teacher or will you take it as some other thing…since you already know a lot about communication skills & have worked also.
ME(Main selected..chaandi..chaandi… chaandi..) Ma’am, I would obviously perceive the class as a student where-in I would discuss with my class-mates on the intricacies of COMMUNICATING well ,on how to speak on topics for which one has little or no idea .Also, I would like to share experience of my students whom I have taught while working with TCY. With the help of the eminent faculty at IMT, I am definitely sure that I would be able to add value to the class.

OP : So,Sahil why did you leave Infosys ?
ME: (pta tha yeh to pucho ge hi..).While working with Infosys I realized my intrinsic skills were more inclined towards management. So, I wanted to give myself a chance of preparing well for CAT & hence I took a heart- rendering decision. It was a tough decision for me but…
(Some more GYAAN)
(I don’t think panel was much convinced on this one)

SP :   (all the time scanning my profile form) asked a question, don’t remember what it was.
ME:  Gave the answer & convinced him.

OP:  Fine Sahil , thanks a lot. We are done.
ME: Thank you Sirs & Ma’am. Thanks for your time.
(Stood up & turned towards the door. Walked 3 steps…)

SP:  (aur kaun ho sakta tha) Sahil, what is the full form of TOEFL
ME:  Test of English as Foreign Language  (Response time less than a mico-second)

Panel : Thank You Sahil
ME   : (With a smiling face) Thank you very much.
(It lasted for around 8-12 min but definitely not more than that)

Post-Interview-
The next girl sitting outside asked me what the panel was asking, I told her. Around 2 minutes passed & they had not signaled the next girl to come in (they ring the bell which signals the next candidate to come in). That means they were discussing amongst themselves about my profile, about my candidature etc etc…

Chances of Selection :  Zilch
Reason :
 1)Pathetic Academic Record
2) Low CAT percentile  (IMT-G has never called aspirants below 95%ile but this year the  procedure  was changed .Some holistic criteria, requirement of Good Interpersonal Skills & Soft-skills )
3) Non-Relevant Work-experience

Verdict : Awaited

While going back to the nearest Metro Station (Anand Vihar)
Sat in a shared AUTO (those are the only ones found & save you the BUCKS as well ),a Beautiful school Girl also was waiting at a stop. I had to change my seat & had to sit with the AUTO-DRIVER as she was a Girl(cursed my luck but Gentleman manners..) but then could see her through the rear mirror. I wanted to have a crush on her but decided against it as she was wearing a school dress. The naughty Auto-Driver changed the track & increased the volume. Some song with the Lyrics :
Aye-haye Jawaani ni..
Oye-Hoye Jawaani ni..

Mid-way he stopped, after all but me & the girl were left in the Auto,he asked us to move into another AUTO. The Girl got upset (uska Nakhra accha laga). But that was economically viable for the auto-waala. So we shifted to the other Auto.(Only me & her). I could not control my basic instinct. Struck a conversation & she also relented (I was dressed in formals).Got to know that she was a final Year Engineering Student from IMS-Ghaziabad & she said that here most Colleges have dress codes since that is safe & avoids Eve-teasing. She was visibly unhappy that she could not enjoy the liberty of wearing any dress (Fuck people with such cheap thinking which makes such a beautiful girl upset). She asked me where I was coming from & when I said “ IMT-Ghaziabd ka interview tha”, she said oh,that is one of the best B-schools of the country after IIM’s.
(Bas fir kya tha, mil gaya choti si EGO ko boost). The girl got impressed. She also told me the way to the nearest mall where I was to spend next 2 hours all alone since my train to Chandigarh was at 5.30 pm. (Wanted to ask her out for a Coffee but nhi puchha). She got down at her stop while I continued in the Auto till Anand-Vihar.

P.S  Feedback in any form on the above interview (including critical) shall be highly appreciated. What do you think are chances of a CONVERT .Please post yout views in the comment columns as I have 2 more interviews coming up.

    1. Hi Sruti,
I did not get a convert. All people who converted were >95%ile in that yr.
IMT is good for Marketing only. All the best for your interview.

TIPS : Specifics are difficult to tellon the blog is kind of tough. Generally speaking, you should be thorough with your resume.
Let me know if i can be of any help..
